Poker Games – Fixed Limit Texas Holdem Poker
The Fixed Limit Texas holdem poker is the next variant of the game that follows the “no-limit” variant in terms of popularity. In contrast to the ‘no-limit’ game which is played by the big brusque players of the game, the ‘fixed-limit’ game is played by those players who like the subtle and toned down version of the game. This variant is a good combination of perfectly timed aggression and skilful handling of the situation.
Unlike in no-limit Texas holdem poker where all chips can be placed as bet, in fixed limit Texas holdem poker, the bet size is always decided before hand. It is the bet size that decides the size of the game. The raise of the bets is always made in small increments.
In this variant, there is a cap on the number of raises a player can make. The limit of the raises can vary greatly from on poker table to the other. Hence, make sure you understand the house rules of the table before you start the game.
Once you have called for the maximum number of raises, you can no longer continue playing the game until the next game is dealt. This game is most preferred by gentlemen who would like to enjoy poker but would not like a rough game
